The great Himalayas covering the region between Nepal’s Far-Eastern district Taplejung to Far-Western District Darchula has been known as The Great Himalaya Region. The trekking route established in this region has been introduced as The Great Himalaya Trail in recent times.

Considering the underlying social, financial and geographical situations of the backward communities living in very remote Himalayan n Hilly districts falling under this great Himalayan trail, the Great Himalayan Trail (Nepal) Alliance has been established for the proportional, financial, social and traditional development of the inhabitants living in that area, through adventurous tourism. On 29th Chaitra, 2069, to work in an organized manner, this organization has been registered in District Administration Office, Kathmandu under Organization Registration Act 2034. For smooth functioning of this organization, a nine-member working committee has been established, consisting of Chairman, First Vice-president, Second Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and remaining all four as members.
